Minnesotans need to be weather-aware Friday as severe storms are expected to develop and race across the state during the afternoon and evening hours.
Meteorologist Sven Sundgaard says it's a "pretty good bet that we are going to see some pretty large hailstones" in parts of central Minnesota. He said the maximum hail size could be 2-4 inches in diameter, so anything the size of golf balls or larger. The best chance for extreme hail is west of the metro.
