Disney Wants You To Stop Sharing Your Passwords On Streaming Platforms

Disney once again is making news headlines. This time though, it's not a new movie trailer or star wars news. Nope, it's their plan to stop people from sharing streaming passwords. This has been a topic of discussion for awhile now and it seems as though Disney is jumping on the bandwagon as it will soon be releasing it's new streaming platform Disney + this upcoming November.

Disney and Charter Communications are teaming up to prevent multiple people from sharing the same streaming account across their offerings, according to a new report. What does that mean for future Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ users? Well, maybe start saving up if you've been using your friend's streaming password.

According to IndieWire.com, Disney and Charter said they have “agreed to work together on piracy mitigation. The two companies will work together to implement business rules and techniques to address such issues as unauthorized access and password sharing.”

How they will be able to do this is unclear with the companies even saying, “we don’t have details to share at this time.” As someone who uses passwords with family members and friends to save money...this is pretty lame if you ask me.

What do you think of this news?
