Family of the 5-year-old boy thrown from a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America has an update on their son's condition. Landon is out of critical condition and is now "alert and conscious."
The boy, known only as Landen, has been in intensive care at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis since the horrifying incident that saw him thrown approximately 40 feet to the ground in a random attack.
While he's expected to undergo a long rehabilitation and will require more surgeries, his family hopes he'll be well enough to return home by June.
The extent of the boy's injuries have not been revealed, but the family's pastor recently said that he avoided brain damage and spinal injuries.
The family is asking people to "keep praying for our son."
