MUSIC MONDAY: Alice Merton Releases New Single & Discusses Debut LP

It was early 2018 when Alice Merton shot to the top of the alt songs charts with 'No Roots' and today, she announces her debut album Mint is set to drop on Jan. 18, 2019. Several weeks ago, Billboard chatted with Merton about her rapid ascent and what's in store for the months leading up to and after the album is unleashed. That interview can be heard HERE.

“There’s this one song that’s probably gonna be one of the singles," Merton says of the so-far unnamed track. "It’s one of my favorites at the moment. I could listen to it all the time... We’ll probably be releasing it in November. When I wrote it, I was like, yeah this is fun.” We also learn the track in question was produced by alt-pop mastermind John Hill, whose production credits include the likes of Portugal. The Man's "Feel It Still" and Florence + the Machine's "What Kind of Man."

Along with the announcement of the album's release date, we get a new single too! Watch the video for 'Why So Serious' below...
