Super Bowl 52: Numbers Are In, How Much $$ Was Generated For MSP?

We certainly earned the tag line #BoldNorth When the Super bowl rolled through the Twin Cities back in February. It was quite the money maker too as the Average Visitor spent around $600 per day during the week of the Super Bowl.

On Tuesday The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee announced the breakdown by the numbers:

=$450 million gross local spending

=$370 million net spending

=$608 spent per day by each tourist

=$273 million generated for Minnesota workers' wages

=1,630 private jets landed at MSP-area airports

=266,000 hotel rooms reserved with triple the profits from same time last year

=1 million people attended Super Bowl LIVE on Nicollet Ave

=83 percent of first-time visitors said they will return to Minnesota

We were fairly close to projections too which is exciting, the $608 spent per day by the average visitor was only $17 shy of the projected $625, and the $370 million spent was just $30 million less than expected
