With just over 3 months until gates open at The Minnesota State Fair... (I know right?! Only 3 months!!) the final 3 grandstand artists have been announced. On Wednesday, Aug. 29, Old Dominion will take to the stage. Old Dominion is a Tennessee based group that just took home the award for Vocal Group of the Year at last month's American Country Music Awards.
They joined Kenny Chesney at US Bank not too long ago.
Shortly following them will be 80's cover band Hairball. This is sure to be a wild show, if you haven't seen them live you've certainly heard of them. Covering everything from Guns n' Roses to ACDC and even Poison, the group is possibly best known for their wild antics and even dressing and imitating the stage presences of whomever they're covering.
This show will be Saturday September 1st.
Finally, the hometown hero's. Having just performed two sold-out shows at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul following a 2-year hiatus, Duluth bluegrass band Trampled by Turtles will play the Grandstand on Saturday, Aug. 25th.
Tickets for all three shows go on sale this Friday. Old Dominion ($25-$48) at 10 a.m., Hairball ($15) at 11 a.m. and then tickets for Trampled by Turtles ($35) go on sale at noon.
