What's Open & Who's Going To Be Closed Today For President's Day

Now Kids, President's Day is not just a day off of school, what we are actually celebrating is President George Washington's Birthday. The third Monday in February is also a day to celebrate all U.S Presidents both past and present. As it's a Federal Holiday, many public offices and schools will be closed today so here's a quick list to hopefully help you plan your day.

Federal and state offices: Closed

Schools and universities: Most public schools are closed, however some colleges will be open.

Grocery stores: Open

City parking meters: Most parking meters won’t be enforced Monday, however there are some exceptions to this including on the U of M Campus so as always be aware of where you're parking.

Public transportation: Metro Transit will be running, but service may be limited in some cities. Metro Transit Twin Cities will run on a normal schedule.

Libraries: Closed

Banks: Most are closed

Garbage and recycling pickup: Check with your trash company. Some are running, while others are not. If you have City of Minneapolis trash service, it’ll running as normal

Shopping malls: Open

Liquor stores: Most will be open

U.S. Post Office: Don't expect mail on Monday, and the post offices will be closed, too. Delivery services like FedEx and UPS will still be making deliveries.
