"Space Tourism" could become a reality in our lifetime

Billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson has plans to send the first space tourists into outer space by 2018. He hopes to make space tourism affordable for "the average individual" in his lifetime. With current ticket prices for the scheduled 2018 tour at $250,000 it has a long way to go for me to afford it, but the Star Wars kid in me is very optimistic and hopeful... and can I say giddy, at the idea.

"Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic is on track to begin commercial passenger spaceflights before the end of next year," the company's chief executive said. 

About 500 people have signed up to take a ride on SpaceShipTwo, at the current ticket price of $250,000.
