How PIXAR changes movie details depending on country of release

When translating text won't reach all audiences, sometimes it can be as simple as changing an image. In the movie "Up!" the text "paradise falls" is replaced with an image of paradise falls instead.

In the movie "Inside out" the characters are from Minnesota so obviously audiences would connect with the game of hockey, however soccer is huge in the rest of the world so the image above was changed for international release.

When Randall holds the tray of cupcakes in "Monsters inc" they can be seen saying "be my pal" but for international release they are changed to smiley faces.

Again in "Inside out" the character of Riley refuses to eat broccoli, but in the Japanese release she has bell peppers in front of her. After producers researched different cultures food they learned that Japanese children love broccoli, so clearly the original scene wouldn't work. In fact they learned many children in Japan find green peppers gross.

Text is changed too
