Cruise lines can now choose if they follow COVID protocols or not. The CDC's guidance for vessels operating in U.S. waters will expire on Saturday, at which point the guidelines will become optional. The agency says it's switching to a voluntary COVID "risk mitigation" program, which includes recommendations for cruise ships to help foster a safe environment for their passengers and crews. Before you decide to book a cruise, you can always go to the CDC website to view the chart that shows what each ship’s rules are. There’s a color scale to let you know most protocols to least.
