A nine-year-old is caught on camera putting candy in an empty trick-or-treat bowl on Halloween. Dylan Suiter was trick-or-treating in Vandalia, Ohio, when he came upon an empty candy bowl on the porch of a house. He starts to walk away, but stops, turns back around, and puts a big handful of candy from his own bag in the bowl before running back down the walkway.

The homeowner, Cara Evans caught the good deed on her home surveillance camera. “He seemed excited to do it, it was really touching,” Evans says. “I was in tears and so was my daughter.” She shared the video of the heartwarming moment on the Facebook group page “All Things Vandalia” where it’s received hundreds of likes.

Dylan’s mom, Sarah Suiter says her son was honored this week by the Vandalia City Council for his good deed. They’ve also received messages from strangers wanting to reward the fourth grader, but she says he just did it for goodness sake. “It’s crazy how far one little random act of kindness can go,” she says.
