Woman Posts Online To SWAP Female for Male Embryo Because She Wants Son

Lisa, 37, has struggled with infertility issues for nine years and already has a son, five. She said on Facebook she is desperate to have another son and wants trade her one female embryo - the last embryo she has remaining after multiple rounds of IVF - for the male embryo of a stranger.

Her name was withheld even though she posted her appeal publicly on Facebook, with the message subsequently taken down. 

The New York Post reported that the mother-of-one posted a plea to a number of social media support groups for IVF couples. Several have responded. 

A 40-year-old Manhattan stay-at-home mom is now the leading contender.
