A parasitic twin attached to the torso of a seven-month-old baby girl has been surgically removed at a hospital in India.
The child was born with a twin attached to the upper part of her abdomen and the lower part of her chest. They also shared some vital organs.
In a two and a half-hour operation a pediatric surgeon separated the twin and its four extra limbs which had failed to develop fully during pregnancy.
The babies were successfully separated at Tura Civil Hospital in the West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, India.
