Survey Shows Minnesotans Know How Cliquey They Are

As anyone who's moved here knows, its very easy to meet a lot of nice people, but when it comes to making actual friends, it's a little more challenging.  Minnesota is seen as an overly nice place, but also cliquey, but a new study shows that at least we can admit it about ourselves!

A recent poll from YouGov Citybus, according to its website, shows most city residents in Minnesota know they're not as welcoming as they should be

Residents of the 20 most populous metropolitan areas were asked how welcoming they are to people of “different backgrounds and cultures.” Houston, with 85 percent of its residents characterizing the city as “very” or “somewhat” welcoming, rated itself at the top, with San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami right behind it. Minneapolis put itself at No. 19, with 72 percent. Meanwhile, 21 percent characterized the city as “very” or “somewhat” unwelcoming.

The only city we rank higher than?  Phoenix.  We'll take it.
