Oklahoma School Closes After PARENTS Threaten Transgender Student

A middle school in a small Oklahoma town is closed for two days following comments made online threatening a 12-year-old transgender student.

The comments were made by adults on a Facebook page for parents of Achille students where one women posted a 'heads up' that 'the transgender is already using the girls bathroom'.

The post, which has since been deleted, received concerning responses, prompting the school to close for safety reasons as some parents referred to the student as 'it', 'thing' and 'maggot'.

One post by a man named Eddie Belcher was especially alarming:  'If he wants to be a female make him a female. A good sharp knife will do the job really quick,' he wrote.

The post was referring to 12-year-old Maddie, who has identified as a girl throughout her time at Achilles schools, and used the girl's bathroom on her first day of seventh grade.

The district is hiring an extra resource officer to help keep students safe, and the victim's family has filed a protective order against Burney Crenshaw, who was tagged in the original post.
