This month as part of Cities Gives Back we recognize Ruff Start Rescue, an organization devoted to rescuing stray, neglected, abandoned, and surrendered animals in need. The organization rescues dogs, cats and critters like ferrets, guinea pigs and rabbits! They provide each pet they rescue with routine health vaccinations, spay/neutering procedures and parasite prevention. Ruff Start Rescue is foster-based and is always looking for fosters, especially right now. These are people who house and love the animals Ruff Start Rescue takes in while the team of staff and volunteers find forever homes for each animal. Ruff Start Rescue believes a home is a more desirable environment than a shelter or kennel for most animals looking for their forever family.
Did you know 3,400 animals are rescued and adopted each year by Ruff Start Rescue. Ruff Start Rescue’s mission is to improve animal welfare through adoption, education and by providing the necessary rescue procedures such as spay and neutering, parasite prevention and heartworm testing. Not only do they rescue dogs and cats but other animals like ferrets, guinea pigs and rabbits too!
