It's a New Music Friday! Once again, there is some truly great new music coming out today that you can add to your collection or playlist.
Up first, my favorite of the week. Lucy Dacus is a brilliant singer/songwriter. Although she has garnered well-deserved critical acclaim as part of the trio boygenius (alongside Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker), she is a wonderful artist in her own right. Her third full-length, Home Video, is out today. Here's the first single:
For me, the Sound Of Summer is all about vibe. Not easy to quantify, but you know it when you hear it. One of the great masters of vibe, Matthew Dear, is back today with a brand new/old full-length release. A previously unreleased gem from 2008, Preacher's Sigh & Potion: Lost Album finally sees the light of day.
One more release of note, the latest from Australian pop-jazz-funk outfit Hiaytus Kaiyote is certain to be a welcome addition to your summer groove playlist.
