Friday is the day that signifies the beginning of the weekend! It also signifies the release all kinds of great new music. I love exploring what's out there and the evolution of music. Here's a few great new songs/releases out today June 4th.
1) Gary Louris - Jump For Joy
The second solo album for The Jayhawks lead singer lands today. Filled with great songwriting and his signature plaintive, yearning vocals. ALSO! Jayhawks just announced a free outdoor show at the Lake Harriet Bandshell on Aug 12th FOR FREE!! Get there early.
2) Liz Phair - Soberish
She has a new album out today, her first in 11 years!! Also just announced, Liz will be the opening act for Alanis Morrissette on her upcoming Jagged Little Pill 25th Anniversary Tour. No Twin Cities date yet, but stay tuned.
3) Chris Thile - Laysongs
He's has been making masterful music for decades, both as a member of incredible bands like Nickle Creek and as a mesmerizing solo artist. Today marks the releases of his first EVER solo vocal/mandolin album.
