Late last night, the news broke that a man was "shooting at vehicles" before shooting himself and then falling from a pedestrian bridge onto 494. Absolutely awful, tragic, horrifying.
UPDATE 8:45 P.M.
Police say a man has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and fell from a bridge onto I-494 Thursday evening.
Bloomington Police Department said the man had earlier been shooting at vehicles from the pedestrian bridge across the interstate near the Portland Avenue interchange.
The department said one of its officers fired at the man as he turned the gun on traffic, but it's not clear if he was hit.
