I LOVE this. This is SUCH a huge announcement. Whether or not you care about the concert itself, the symbolism is amazing.
Live music is scheduled to come back to First Avenue in Minneapolis this fall, with the famed venue anticipating the COVID situation will have sufficiently improved to resume operations by then.
The venue announced Thursday that it would host an in-person concert featuring Dinosaur Jr. on Sep. 14 in its mainroom. Tickets will go on sale March 19.
The announcement marks a turnaround in the local live music scene, which has largely been on hold since the start of the pandemic last year.
