Members of the public are being asked to avoid an area of Duluth due to an ongoing "dangerous situation" that has already led to the death of a police dog.
Duluth Police Department says the scene is still active in the 2300 block of West 4th Street, to which officers were called at 8:30 p.m. Thursday on a report of a "physical domestic."
When they arrived, officers learned the suspect had "felony warrants and refused to surrender."
A K9 named Luna was "sent in to apprehend the suspect," with the male suspect firing shots, hitting Luna.
