Rita Wilson No Longer Has COVID-19 Antibodies

Rita Wilson and her husband Tom Hanks were two of thefirst celebrities to reveal they had been diagnosed with COVID-19at the very start of the United States’ lockdown back in March of 2020.

The official diagnosis came on March 11, 2020. Well, Rita just made a big reveal duringThe Ellen Show: she no longer has antibodies for the virus, around 10 months later. In December of 2020, Ritasaid she did still have the antibodies.So, sometime between December of 2020 and January of 2021, Rita‘s antibodies disappeared.

This is significant as we still do not know how long COVID-19 antibodies will last. SARS-CoV-2 is a brand new virus that has now only been around about a year, and scientists were not sure how long Coronavirus antibodies would stay in the body after a person recovers from the illness.
