The Minnesota Vikings are closing in on a multi-year contract extension with general manager Rick Spielmanper NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Spielman has served as the Vikings' general manager since 2012 and has overseen the transformation for a team that was toward the bottom of the league both offensively and defensively into a perennial contender in the NFC.
The trademark for Spielman has been his knack for finding talent late in the NFL Draft, where he's turned late-round picks and undrafted free agents into key pieces such as Danielle Hunter, Adam Thielen and Anthony Harris.
