Traces of Feces and Other Bacteria Found on McDonald's Ordering Kiosks

As concern grows for the spread of Coronavirus, an article from November of 2008 caught my eye. There are so many surfaces that we are touching and until now, would rarely think about the invisible germs and bacteria that are lurking nearly everywhere.

Have you ever used the McDonald's self ordering kiosks? I certainly have! Do you immediately go to wash your hands afterwards? I certainly do not. But after reading this article, my habits will change and hope yours will, too. A study in the UK revealed that 75% of the touchscreens contained feces. If that isn't disturbing enough, one kiosk contained a deadly bacteria called staphylococcus, which is a "contagious bacteria that can cause blood poisoning and even toxic shock syndrome."
