This is not an example of Minnesota Nice. This is an example of good sportsmanship, and it's gaining some well-deserved attention following an incredible overtime section championship hockey game between two Twin Cities schools.
At 3M Arena at Mariucci Wednesday evening, The Blake School defeated Benilde-St. Margaret's 4-3 on a rare overtime penalty shot. As soon as the winning goal was scored, Blake celebrated, as is the standard when clinching a berth in the state tournament. But one player held off on the celebration: junior goalie Aksel Reid.
