Good News On the way for Minnesota's Insulin users?

Some really good news for my dad and others affected by diabetes and the sometimes absurd cost of insulin. Illinois has become the second state to cap insulin costs at $100 per month. Minnesotans with diabetes have reported paying between 500 and 900 per month for vials of insulin and that’s with insurance.

Many minnesotans are taking the drastic measure of driving to Canada to stock up on insulin which can cost just 1/10th the price that is costs in the US.

Just in case you’re wondering what it costs to manufacture a vial of insulin. Several reports have the cost coming in between 2 and 6 dollars per vial.

Governor Tim Walz is working with representatives from both parties to come to a solution this week.
