Pre-dawn freezing rain has turned roadways into skating rinks in far southern Minnesota, and as of 7:15 a.m. the Minnesota Department of Transportation is advising no travel in and around Fairmont and Blue Earth.
Meanwhile, roads all along the Interstate 90 corridor from border-to-border are listed as being "completely covered with ice," according to MnDOT. The roads are also bad in southeast Minnesota, just to the south of the Twin Cities metro area beginning around Cannon Falls and Red Wing.
