Millions of Verizon cellphone customers will get a year of Disney+ free of charge as part of a partnership announced on Tuesday.
America's second largest cellphone carrier announced that all of its Verizon wireless unlimited 4G and 5G customers will be able to get 12 months of Disney's new streaming platform free of charge when it launches on Nov. 12.
The news came as a huge blow to Netflix, which has a similar arrangement with T-Mobile but has seen its subscriber numbers slow down and its stock price plunge this year as new competitors prepare to launch rival platforms.
