A bag exploded at Midway International Airport in Chicago, and authorities determined the cause was something that could have easily happened to anyone's bag.
According to the Daily Mail, a piece of luggage exploded as it was being loaded onto a plane at the airport just before 12:30 p.m. Monday, emitting a loud noise and smoke. Authorities say the bag had just been accidentally run over by a luggage vehicle before being placed on the loading belt.
The bomb squad and emergency crews reported to investigate and determined the explosion may have been caused by a phone battery or charger.
No one was injured, and airport operations resumed after the incident was cleared with no public safety threat.
