A Dog Survived In Bahamas Rubble For Weeks After Hurricane Dorian

A dog has done the unexpected. The dog, which now being named Miracle survived weeks under rubble after Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahama's.Thanks to efforts of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, a rescue base in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida, the dog was found and got the help it needed. The team brought the dog back to Florida where it was fed, and cleaned up. It is believed Miracle was trapped for more than three weeks under a air conditioner.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue Founder and President Lauree Simmons said in a statement, “What an incredible story that we were able to discover this dog alive after being trapped for so long."

According to the Palm Beach Post, "Big Dog Ranch Rescue used a drone to find Miracle...Once they detected a small heat patch, rescue workers trudged through debris to reach the dog." As of now, they are hoping they can find the dog's owner and the let them know it's okay.

According to NBC.com, Big Dog Ranch Rescue has saved 138 dogs from the Bahamas since Hurricane Dorian hit in early September, and several dogs have been reunited with owners in Florida.
