There's a simple explanation for the gross lumps on your avocado skin, and it's a bit disgusting.
According to the Daily Mail, one shopper questioned the mysterious wooden lumps along the inside of her avocado's skin when she cut it open.
Avocados Australia, the leading avocado experts down under, came to the rescue and offered a simple explanation: the lumps are the result of an insect bite on the fruit.
The wooden bumps left from bug bites don't make the avocado unsafe to eat, however.
