Beware MSP Travelers: Scammers Could Scan Your E-Passport From Feet Away

A new scam could pose a threat to those using electronic passports of those traveling through MSP.

According to the Daily Mail, the latest airport scam involves thieves scanning passport data from several feet away and tracking the person's every movement. The data read from the chip inside the passport contains all the same information written on the passport, and allows security to scan it for identification.

The flaw was just recently discovered and can affect e-passports from all over the world.

It's not clear yet what device is being used by the scammers, but it does have the ability to scan the chips from several feet away.
