Eddie Murphy Is Planning A Standup Comedy Tour For 2020

It seems as if Eddie Murphy is making a comeback in the latter half of 2019 and into 2020. He announced earlier this year that he is making a sequel to Coming To America as well as hosting SNL in December. Now, it seems he's coming back to the stand up stage for a new comedy tour. "Next year I am going to tour, do some stand-up," Murphy revealed while speaking on the "Present Company with Krista Smith" Netflix podcast.

That was that - he didn't give any dates, cities or any details but it sounds like he is finally coming back to where he began is career. In 2011, Murphy said he had no interest in making family movies any more, and basically disappeared from public eye. He told Rolling Stone earlier, "There's really no blueprint, but I'm trying to do some edgy stuff. And I only want to do what I really want to do, otherwise I'm content to sit here and play my guitar all day. I always tell people now that I'm a semiretired gentleman of leisure, and occasionally I'll go do some work to break the boredom up." Eddie is currently set to play real-life comic, Rudy Rae Moore in the film, Dolemite Is My Name which is screening at the Toronto Film Festival.
