Matrix 4 Is Officially Happening With Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss

Well, this is good news for all you Matrix fans and fellow sci-fi lovers out there. Matrix 4 has officially been announced and will once again star Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. They will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity while Lana Wachowski, who co-created the original trilogy, is also attached to the project.

Lana will co-write, direct and produce the film. She will be joined by writers Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell, as well as producer Grant Hill, according to Variety. This is great news for fans of the series and those hoping to get a followup.

According to Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich, "We could not be more excited to be re-entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana,” Emmerich told Variety in a statement. “Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe."

It's been noted that the producers hope to start production by next year so we could be looking at a late 2020 or early 2021 release date.No word on the plot of the film yet, but we will have to wait and see.
