Well, Hello There - Ewan McGregor Set To Reprise The Role Of Obi-Wan Kenobi

Good news for all you Star Wars fans out there! It seems Ewan McGregor is ready to play the iconic jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi once again for a new Disney+ series. For a while now, everyone was hoping that Disney would announce the return of the character with a movie but this almost seems better! Ewan McGregor’s eagerness to return to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the character he first played in 1999’s The Phantom Menace prequel, has long been documented.

The plot and a cast have not quite been announced yet, but I'm sure we will hear something soon. McGregor played the character immortalised in the first trilogy by Alec Guinness in three prequels: The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005). He also made a voice-only cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).

As of now, this means Disney now has three Star Wars shows set to be released on their upcoming streaming platform. According to The Guardian, We will have The Mandalorian on November 12th and another Star Wars spinoff show with unannounced date. It will star Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk reprising their Rogue One characters Cassian Andor and K-2S0.

Are you excited for all these Star Wars shows?
