Okay, you may have heard the controversy in regards to the casting of Ariel in the next Disney live action film based on the beloved animated film, The Little Mermaid. Ariel will be played by young star, Halle Bailey but have you heard who is petitioning to play her father, King Triton? None other than Terry Crews himself. Yep...that's right and I am all for that casting. When the movie was announced, Terry crews took to Twitter and posted this - see below.
See - how can you not enjoy that casting! Get him on the phone Disney! The film will be produced by John DeLuca, Marc Platt and Lin-Manuel Miranda and is set to feature the songs from the beloved 1989 animated film by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as new songs by Menken and Miranda.
Melissa McCarthy is in talks to play the villian, Ursula
Shooting is expected to start sometime in 2020.
