Before we get into why, here is the joke in question. Skip to 3:25 to see the now cut scene:
The Walt Disney Company isn’t taking any chances in the era of #MeToo.
The company’s film studio has quietly deleted a scene from its faux blooper reels that are shown together with the closing credits of the 1999 film Toy Story 2.
In the latest 4K Blu-ray releases and digital downloads of the film, a scene showing the character Stinky Pete flirting with two Barbie dolls has been cut.
In the original reel, Stinky Pete, who is voiced by Frasier star Kelsey Grammer, offers the Barbie dolls a part in the next Toy Story.
'And so you two are absolutely identical?' Stinky Pete asks the Barbie dolls.
‘You know I'm sure I can get you a part in Toy Story 3.’
Stinky Pete then grasps one of the doll’s hands.
When he realizes, however, that he is being watched, he cuts short the conversation and ushers the dolls out of the toy box.
He then stares at the dolls’ backsides as they walk past him.
Harvey Weinstein, perhaps the most prominent man to be accused of sexual misconduct, is alleged to have assaulted or harassed dozens of women over a period of decades.
The women kept quiet about the allegations for years for fear that it would negatively impact their careers in Hollywood.
