The family of the 5-year-old boy thrown from a balcony at the Mall of America have revealed for the first time the full extent of his horrific injuries. The boy, known only as Landen, remains in intensive care at Children's Minneapolis following the shocking attack on April 12 that saw him thrown over the railing on the Bloomington mall's third floor, landing 40 feet below. His attacker, Emmanuel Aranda, was sentenced to 19 years in prison earlier this month for attempted murder. In an update posted to the family's GoFundMe page, the boy's family acknowledges that it has preferred to keep his recovery private to this point, noting "we have let our hopes govern what we have revealed to the public."
