Hunger Games Prequel Book Announced And There's Already Talk Of A Movie

Scholastic announced on Monday that a prequel to the popular book series, Hunger Games will be written. The book itself is once again being penned by author, Suzanne Collins who wrote the the original trilogy. The still untitled book will be set on the country of Panem 64 years before the events of the first book.

What's even more interesting is that Lionsgate, who produced the movie adaptations are already speaking with Collins on a movie of the book. According to a statement by chairmen Joe Drake, "We look forward to continuing to work closely with her on the movie.” Pretty interesting use of words there. If the book is good...I'm down for another film.

“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival,” said Collins in a press release.

What do you think of this announcement? Are you excited to get back to the world of The Hunger Games?
