An avid storm chaser has proposed to his boyfriend in the most fitting way possible – in front of a swirling tornado in Kansas.
Joey Krastel, a meteorologist and risk analyst for the Maryland Emergency Management Agency, popped the question to his boyfriend Chris Scott, 23, in an exhilarating proposal on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old shared a sweet snap himself bent on one knee proposing to Scott with the caption: 'The two loves of my life' as a giant tornado is seen racing towards them in Tipton.
Krastel said he, Scott and two friends set out to catch a tornado in Kansas on Tuesday after the National Weather Service issued a 'tornado emergency' for several counties in the states.
They started their hunt in Salina, Kansas and found the vicious storm in Tipton, where Krastel made his proposal.
'It all just kind of came together and happened so quickly,' Krastel saidNBC. 'I was like "OK, this is it."'
The picture has since racked up over 8,000 likes on Twitter.
Krastel said while the tornado appears to be at a safe distance in the photo, it drew perilously close the group during the proposal.
'I called to my friends to get back in the car,' Krastel said. 'I was just so emotional just because it was my happiest place, being with him next to the storms.'
