I feel like this was only a matter of time...especially considering Netflix has been raising their prices every few months or so. According to industry experts, Netflix could be running ads during their streaming services in the near future.
During a panel at IAB’s Digital Content NewFronts on Monday, executives from YouTube, media agency UM and MediaLink were asked about Netflix staying ad-free. “They’re going to need growth. Eventually, they’re going to need more growth" According to said Tara Walpert Levy, YouTube and Google’s VP of Agency and Media Solutions.
Pretty interesting if you think about it and it seems it's the best option for Netflix to grow financially. Hulu and Amazon Prime already have ads that play during their programming. So I feel like it's only a matter of time.
