It's Pretty Likely That 'Friends' Will Leave Netflix After All

New developments suggest Friends will leave Netflix after all.

According to a national report via KARE 11, the $100 million deal that Netflix made to keep Friends on the streaming service is up at the end of 2019, and a new streaming service in the works will likely take the show.

WarnerMedia plans to launch its own service, which means Friends would go with it. The company's head of content spoke of the future of the streaming service, hinting that shows on the service will be exclusive: "Sharing destination assets is not a good model. My belief is they should be exclusive to the service."

Other shows on Netflix threatened by the new unnamed streaming service, which is set to launch later this year, include Riverdale, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow.

Disney is also planning to launch its own streaming service, which could potentially mean that classic Disney movies and Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks would no longer be available on Netflix.
