Police Identify Suspect In Minneapolis School Bus Shooting

Police identified the suspect arrested in the Minneapolis school bus shooting on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Star Tribune , the suspect is identified as 31-year-old Kenneth W. Lilly. He was booked at Hennepin County Jail Tuesday night where he awaits formal charges of second-degree assault.

Other than minor traffic violations, Lilly doesn't appear to have a criminal record in Minnesota. His mother says he works as a security guard.

Lilly was quickly arrested following the apparent road rage incident in which the school bus driver was shot while behind the wheel following a crash. Police took a gun, believed to be a semiautomatic weapon, from him. The driver was taken to HCMC for noncritical injuries and was "alert and conscious" while being transported in the emergency vehicle.

The Minneapolis School District student on the bus, seated at the back of the bus during the incident, was not harmed and has been reunited with family.
