Man Cited For Chaining Dog Outside Tuesday in Brooklyn Center

Brooklyn Center Police Department

A Brooklyn Center man was cited after leaving his dog chained up outside in severely negative temperatures on Tuesday.

According to Fox 9 , 29-year-old Dang Xiong was cited for animal cruelty (a misdemeanor offense) after officers found the dog shivering outside in the -9 degree temperature on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers found vomit near the dog and there was very little food and water in the enclosure.

Police seized the dog upon citation.

It feels like this should go without saying, but PLEASE bring your pets indoors and do everything you can to keep your animals safe during extreme weather like that which we have been experiencing this week.
