A woman faces a charge for the death of her 7-year-old son, whose body was found in a storage unit.
According to a press release (via 9 News in Denver), 43-year-old Elisha Pankey turned herself in and is being held for child abuse resulting in death.
On December 23, local authorities contacted Denver PD about a missing 7-year-old boy, and his body was located the same day. The boy, identified as Caden McWilliams, is believed to have been dead since May 24. His cause of death is listed as unknown.
Pankey appeared in court Thursday afternoon and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
Colorado Bureau of Investigation records show Pankey has a criminal history dating back to 2000, and was arrested for heroin possession the day before her son was found dead.
