Mohamed Noor's Team Seeks To Use Moon Phase As Defense In Murder Case

Mohamed Noor's legal team seeks to use the phase of the moon in his defense for the murder of Justine Damond.

According to The Guardian, Noor requested access to a squad car to recreate the scene in the alley where he allegedly shot across his partner, striking Damond in the stomach. His legal team says the moon will be in the same phase tonight (Friday) that it was on July 15 just before midnight when Damond was killed.

It's not clear as to why they are trying to use the phase of the moon in his defense, but I'm thinking that perhaps the lighting of the moon may have altered his vision and perception of what was happening before his eyes.

Noor faces second- and third-degree murder charges. The trial takes place in Minneapolis on April 1.
