Women Get Better Sleep With Their Dogs vs. People

A new study shows that women sleep better with dogs than they do with their human partners.

Yes, I immediately thought of my dog when I saw the headlines claiming that dogs help women sleep better than with people. I don't know if I agree or disagree on this, but I can say that I don't sleep as well without my dog as I do with him. It's a comfort thing, and it's our routine. My chihuahua kisses my face until we both fall asleep and life is absolutely beautiful and serene.

The study, published by researchers at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York (via the NY Post), showed that dogs were less likely to wake their owners in the middle of the night than cats and humans. Cats and humans were equally disruptive and gave women fewer "feelings of comfort and security" than doggos did.

The study suggests dogs help their owners stick to a strict daily routine, with earlier sleep and wake times.
