South Minneapolis Gets a New Cuban Cafe

A new Cuban spot opened this week in south Minneapolis.

According to City Pages, Guavas Cuban Cafe opened this Wednesday at its 5607 Chicago Avenue South location.

Owner Frank Machado wants to keep things traditional, using recipes from uncles and things he's learned throughout his career.

Customers can get sandwiches, rice bowls, and grilled items with Spanish sauces from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner hours will be added soon.
