A cell phone video shows a violent confrontation between a 64-year-old teacher and 14-year-old student, leaving us feeling shocked and maybe even conflicted.
NBC 4 in Los Angeles shared footage of a music teacher at an alternative school punching the student, who is seen verbally provoking the argument. The student is said to have used racial slurs.
The teacher was arrested and booked on suspicion of child abuse. The student wasn't seriously injured, but was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Because of the nature of the altercation which reportedly involved racial slurs, many are feeling conflicted over the matter and seem to be taking the teacher's side. More than $90,000 have been raised on a GoFundMe page for the teacher, NBC reports.
