Almond milk is being recalled for the most ironic (but serious) reason.
While not everyone drinks almond milk for true health reasons such as allergies or intolerance to regular milk, this recall can pose a serious issue. USA TODAY reports over 145,000 gallon cartons of refrigerated Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk is being recalled because they may contain actual milk. The cartons have a September 2 use-by date with a UPC of 41570 05621.
One allergic reaction has been reported in this case, though medical treatment or hospitalization was not required. Still, allergies can be a life-or-death situation and as silly as having real milk in almond milk sounds, it's a serious deal.
The recall affects Minnesota among various other states, including Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.
If you purchased the recalled product, you can go back to the store you bought it from for a full refund or exchange.
